Smoke Tools

There are several variations for smoking CPAN, but three configurations are currently recommended, these are CPAN/CPAN-Reporter, CPAN-Report-Smoker and CPANPLUS/CPANPLUS-YACSmoke. See below for more details.

Note -- many (most) of these guides predate CPAN Testers 2.0. References to configuring email are incorrect.

Please see the Quick Start guide for instructions on setting up tools for CPAN Testers 2.0. If you use one of these tools already, please help out by updating the instructions below.

Recommended Smoke Tools

CPAN + CPAN-Reporter (roll-your-own automation)

Distributed Testing

The POE installations use the above smoke bots to provide more extensive smoker network.

Deprecated Smoke Tools

These tools although still available are no longer heavily supported.

Although now deprecated, CPAN-YACSmoke contains several features not included with other smoke bots. As such it is hoped the above can be patched to include some of the more useful features.
